Merger Complete
The merge between STC and National Transportation Payments and Consultants (NTPC) was completed in January 2002. In March 2001, STC purchased NTPC, a St. Louis based company focused on providing freight payment and audit services. This acquisition was a strategic attempt by STC to gain market share while offering additional consulting and carrier negotiations to the NTPC customers.
During the period since the acquisition, STC has worked on nurturing the customer relationships and creating the opportunity for new services. We also began to examine the NTPC system and procedures in an attempt to gather information about new ways to streamline our own processes.
In September, STC announced that it would be consolidating the NTPC processing facility with the MA-based corporate office. The decision was reached in order to build one vision for the future and reduce the costs of operating two independent facilities.
The immediate result of this action was an increase in the total bill volume at our corporate office as well as the need for new staff and equipment. The transition of all accounts was completed in December 2001. We are proud to welcome all of our new employees as part of our rapidly growing team!
